

2020 RYA Dinghy Sailing Courses At Bardowie Loch, Craigmaddie Road, Milngavie G62 6EX – Evenings

Courses are available to all members of Clyde Cruising Club Dinghy Section who have attained the age of 8 by the commencement of lessons on Monday 20 April 2020.

Monday – Beginners and Improvers – (NSS Levels 1, 2 & 3, YSS Stages 1, 2, 3 & 4).
Tuesday – Club Night: with support to develop and improve race management and racing for all levels of sailors. If enough support will include single class racing for Solos, Lasers and Fevas. No course fee.
Wednesday – Beginners and Improvers – (NSS Levels 1, 2 & 3, YSS Stages 1, 2, 3 & 4).
Thursday – Regular club racing, (no instruction).
Friday – Beginners and Improvers – (NSS Levels 1, 2 & 3, YSS Stages 1, 2, 3 & 4).
18.30 till dusk
Course costs: £60 (plus membership of the club) The course costs will be requested once your place on a course is confirmed.
The courses will officially run from 20 April till 26 June. In the quieter Summer holiday period your instructors may continue to attend on certain evenings, an opportunity to practice what you have learnt. More information to follow.
Your name will be placed on a list from which places in evening classes will be allocated by the Training Committee early in the season. All courses and places are dependent on volunteer instructor availability.
Please complete the form below to apply for a place. We will do our best to accommodate your preferred choice, but you may be offered an alternative evening. Please note your place is not confirmed until you receive notification from Clyde Cruising Club.
Kit List
Sailing gear (wetsuit, dry suit, dinghy boots, etc) would be advantageous but not compulsory. The Club has a selection of buoyancy aids for learners.
Suggest coming prepared for Scottish weather – i.e. light layers.
Windproof jacket (e.g. Cagoule)
Fleece/sweatshirt
Shorts or lightweight trousers – NOT jeans
Lightweight nonslip footwear (e.g. Trainers, Crocs, plimsolls. NOT wellies or flip-flops)
Warm hat
A complete change of clothes and a towel
On your first evening please bring a completed course form which are available at Bardowie or via the website. It is expected that membership fees will be paid to CCC Office prior to the start of evening classes. Course fees should also be paid to CCC office.
RYA training courses are progressive and
as such are designed for learning to sail and improving sailing skills.
Certificates will only be awarded when the
instructors are satisfied that all elements can be demonstrated to the standard
approved for each stage
